Children gather by Brandon Estate as coaches arrive. We see a shot of residents from above taken from a balcony. Men load supplies into the coach.
Children wave from the windows of a beautiful 1960s coach as it drives by. Inside the coach the children eat apples. There is a POV shot out the front window of the coach.
(3:20) Intertitles: ‘Pitter patter goes the rain. Now that we are back again AT CANVEY ISLAND’.
(3:27) We see the coaches arrive. It is a grey day on Canvey Island, as people disembark.
(4:37) Now by the seaside, a boy plays on the beach, trying to throw a huge stone into the sea.
(5:04) At the funfair, we see residents on the waltzer. We cut to a sign on the ride reading: "ALL PERSONS RIDING ON THIS RIDE DO SO AT THEIR OWN RISK'
(6:20) A young boy and girl muck around by the waltzer in front of the camera, the boy trying to pick the girl up.
(6:30) Children eat clouds of pink and orange candy floss. Some women eat seaside donuts.
(7:27) POV shot of going down a helter skelter.
(8:05) a young boy shows off the goldfish he has won. Two boys ride on mechanical horses.
(8:39) Children ride on a toy boat ride, a toy plane ride, and bumper cars.
(10:40) Two small children in knitted bonnets play in brightly coloured wooden swings.
(11:50) We cut to the exterior of a ghost train ride. There is then a sequence in which the camera man captures residents entering the ride, and then their reactions upon exiting it. The residents laugh as they leave the ghost train, as if recovering from a shock.
(12:59): Cut to children on a carousel.
(13:20): We see the entrance to a roller coaster. An excited line of children wait to board. There is then a POV shot of the cameraman riding the coaster.
Intertitle: 'Although we didn't see the sun, We all enjoyed the fairground fun, And every kid on our Estate, Knows next year will be as great.

Further information: The Brandon Estate was built in 1958 and housed people from Bermondsey whose houses had been demolished in slum clearance. The residents formed several clubs, and the cine club filmed events run by the social club, which met above the library. Filmmaker Brian Waterman joined the cine club age 17 and bought his camera with his first pay packet (he worked for London Underground).
