The hall contains tables set with party hats and Christmas crackers. The stage has a Christmas tree. Women prepare food. Shots of the goodie bags and their contents: sugar, eggs, tea, tinned salmon and fruit. The senior citizens arrive and take their seats. Shots of people in their party hats eating sandwiches and drinking tea. They do not seem to talk to each other much while eating. Some smile at the camera as it pans the table. In kitchen the party organisers make more tea and do the washing up. They seem to being having fun joking with each other. Then the hall is rearranged so that the retirees face the stage. They laugh at the jokes of the man at the piano, who accompanies a female singer in a ball gown. A couple in Edwardian dress sing and dance. The woman goes down into the audience and teases one man, then dances with another. The audience enjoy the entertainment and laugh with each other. They are served after-dinner drinks. Then some of them sing on stage, or play the piano. One man seems to lead a sing-along. As the senior citizens leave, they are given the goodie bags. Two ladies dance and sing as they leave.
