Children on the outdoor fairground rides (including the ghost train, the helter skelter, and bumper cars); then in the games arcade when it starts raining (brief shots of photos of naked women seen through a kinoscope). Shots of the beach and water from the windy promenade as a lone boy wanders on the sand. When the tide goes out, children walk along the rocks and seaweed looking for wildlife. Adults sit on the beach while a young girl plays with a bucket and spade. A group looks through a telescope at the ships in the distance (the camera takes its turn at the telescope). Back at the fun fair, more shots of adults and children outside the restaurants. More shots of children on fairground rides, including two black girls riding by themselves, watched by their mother, and a group clowning around on the balcony of Windy Nook.
The cameraman films from a swirling car in a ferris wheel-like ride. Then the participants begin to gather back at the coaches. [16:34] Intertitle: The cost of this dish is 385 well spent.

Further information: The Brandon Estate was built in 1958 and housed people from Bermondsey whose houses had been demolished in slum clearance. The residents formed several clubs, and the cine club filmed events run by the social club, which met above the library. Filmmaker Brian Waterman joined the cine club age 17 and bought his camera with his first pay packet (he worked for London Underground).
