Description: The film begins with the arrival of Queen Elizabeth II and the Duke of Edinburgh at Rotherhithe. They are piped ashore by members of the Southwark Sea Cadets. The royal party then travel through the streets of Rotherhithe in a glass roofed car, arriving at the Evangelical Church of the Deaf near Surrey Docks. A Guard of Honour is provided by men of the Royal Fusiliers. The arrival of the royal party is accompanied by music from the Southwark Orchestra and Singers performing a specially written jubilee song conducted by Dennis Coleman. The Mayor of Southwark, Councillor Harold Young, greets the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh, and the Queen unveils a commemorative stone recording her visit. They then view a pageant about the history of Southwark featuring people dressed as King Henry V, characters from Shakespeare plays, Dickens characters, and the engineers Brunel. The Mayor makes a presentation to the Queen and she thanks the assembled dignitaries including George Graves the public relations officer for the event, and author of jubilee song performed for the Queen (he was also probably the commissioner of this film). The Queen and Duke of Edinburgh rejoin their car and leave to a fanfare played by musicians from Royal Military School of Music.
