Description: The film begins at St Katherine's Docks with views of the Nore lightship, the Dickens Inn, the ship 'Challenge' and a Thames barge. It continues down East Smithfield to the Royal Mint and on to Trinity Square, the former Port of London Authority building and Trinity House. All Hallows by the Tower church leads on to Custom House, Billingsgate fish market and The Cock public house. A walk down Eastcheap leads to St Margaret Pattens church, St Mary-at-Hill church, the Monument and Pudding Lane. Passing the Fishmongers Hall and London Bridge the route continues up past St Mary Waldorf church, to Mansion House, the Bank of England, and Royal Exchange. There is a brief look at surrounding streets: Threadneedle Street, Cornhill, Lombard Street, Poultry, Threadneedle Street before moving on. Queen Victoria Street leads on to Temple of Mithras, the Church of St Benet Paul's Wharf, and the College of Arms. From St Paul's Cathedral the route travels along Ludgate Hill to Ludgate Circus and on to Fleet Street taking in the buildings of the Express and Telegraph newspapers. There are also views of the Reuters and Press Association building, St Brides Church, offices of Coutts & Co bank and Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese public house. Then it is on to Mitre Court and the world of the Inner and Middle Temple, travelling through Inner Temple Gateway on to Brick Court, Pump Court, Middle Temple Hall, and Temple Church. Along Chancery Lane, glancing towards the Royal Courts of Justice, past the offices of the Law Society and the Public Record Office, on to Carey Street, past the bankruptcy courts to Lincoln's Inn Fields. A look towards Sir John Soane's Museum then along Kingsway past Holy Trinity Kingsway church, to Great Queens Street and the Freemasons Hall. Continuing down Drury Lane to Broad Court and Bow Street past the Police station and Magistrates Court to the Royal Opera House. At Covent Garden and Russell Street, views of the Theatre Royal Drury Lane (where 'A Chorus Line' is playing) and into the Covent Garden complex being redeveloped by the GLC. Views of Bedford Chambers and St Paul's Church Covent Garden. Walking up Kings Street via New Row and Goodwin's Court to The Salisbury public House, the Alberry theatre, the Duke of York's theatre and the Coliseum. Across to Cecil Court and through to Charing Cross Road past the Garrick theatre and National Portrait Gallery, glimpsing the Henry Irving statue and concluding the journey at the newly pedestrianised Leicester Square.

Further information: This film is a successor to a previous film that follows the course of the first section of the Silver Jubilee Walkway, on its five-and-a-quarter mile walk from Leicester Square to Tower Hill, via St. James's Park, the South Bank and Southwark. The walkway was initiated as part of the 1977 Silver Jubilee celebrations.
