BT Archives
BT Archives moving image collection spans a wide variety of topics and is held on a wide variety of media. Our films cover topics as diverse as information on the use of the telephone, how the network operates, staff training, trans-Atlantic communications, 999 service, BT Tower and improvements in technology. The original films are held on a wide variety of media including 16mm reel film, 1-inch film, Beta SP, Umatic and digital media. Where possible we provide digital access copies of our films and a current program of digitising films, on media formats which we do not have the means to play, means that we are consistently making new titles available to researchers.
